Furious Sheffield Wednesday manager Dave Jones branded Twitter the ‘scourge of modern football’ after problems with his players using the social network.
In the latest incident he slammed defender Reda Johnson’s over a Twitter claims that he will be out for two months.
The 24-year-old tweeted that he was set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines but has deleted the post after Jones stepped in.
Earlier on-loan striker Jay Bothroyd was involved in a Twitter row with fans after he was subjected to online abuse.
On the Johnson incident Jones said : “He isn’t the specialist and that is completely different to what I’ve been told.He’s taken it down now and rightly so, it isn’t his place to put that information out.I don’t know why he did it, he should know better. It’s the scourge of modern football.”
