Athlete Richard Hayes is putting his best foot forward in order to compete in 13 official 10km races in 2013.
Richard, 30, has also set himself a target of recording a personal best time in each event.
The runner from North Sheffield told Barnsley News and Sport: “The challenge is to complete one official 10km race a month and to also set a pb at each race. Of course, in one month I will have to compete in two races so I can hit the magic total of 13 races.
“The aim is to raise a total of £2013 for the NSPCC.
“This year I have managed to lose over four stone in just under four months. This was partly due to my fondness for running!
“And in 2012 I have already completed three 10km races, the last one being the recent Percy Pud 10km, where I knocked five minutes off my personal best.”
