Reds’ fans taking part in charity walk to Pride Park

Barnsley fans are braving the rain today as they walk from Oakwell to Pride Park, the home of Derby County, to raise money for the charity CALM.

Having already raised  more than £20,000 on walks organised by the West Stand Bogs fanzine to Chesterfield and Bradford in recent years, more than 60  supporters have signed up for today’s trek into Derbyshire.

Liam Dyson, one of the people responsible for setting up the fanzine, said: “Suicide is the biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK and CALM looks to offer support and help for young men suffering in their time of crisis.”

He went on: “Men tend to deviate when it comes to their own inner feelings and issues. It’s time to change that, and I hope that by doing our walk we can make a difference. The money raised will certainly do that.”
Barnsley Football Club is backing the charity walk.
