Barnsley have completed the signing of their fifth permanent summer recruit.
He is 24-years-old Forest Green Rangers central defender Ethan Pinnock, who has penned a three-year deal with the Oakwell Club.
Pinnock (pictured) joined Forest Green from Dulwich Hamlet in 2016 and helped them gain promotion to the Football League for the first time in their history, making 43 appearances and scoring three goals.
He came through the youth ranks at Dulwich; was in the first team at the age of 16; and had just won the club’s Player of the Year award before being snapped up by Forest Green.
Barnsley head coach Paul Heckingbottom expressed his delight at clinching the signing of his latest recruit.
“He joins us following promotion, so he is on a real high and ready to take the next step on his career, He is what we want at this club – young and hungry players who are constantly wanting to improve themselves and further their careers at Barnsley.”
Pinnock is reported on the club’s official website as saying: “I am really looking forward to getting started. I know we have a young side and I really like the way the manager wants to play. This is a club that will help you progress as a player.”
