Birdwell Wheeler Dan Taylor (pictured) continued his run of successes when he rode in the Huddersfield Star Wheelers’ 10-Mile Open Time Trial from the Sovereign to Hoylandswaine and back.
His time of 23m 27s have him another podium finish in third place behind Jonathan Wears and Anthony Bromley.
He came out on top again in the second of seven 10-Mile Club Time Trials with a time of 21-35. Trevor Mayne was second in 23-16 and third was Paul Heggie in 26-52. Joe Woodhouse was first on handicap with a time of 27-08, which earned him fourth place overall.
Other Wheelers’ times and placings were as follows: 5, Roger Bacon 28-00; 6, Philip Adams 29-19; 7, John Woodhouse 29-54.
Times of guest riders were: R Keyte (Team Cystic Fibrosis) 25-14; A McNamara (Rockingham CC) 25-08; N Bisby (Rockingham CC) 26-20; K Naylor (Rockingham CC) 28-06.
The third in the series is due to take place at Park Springs on Tuesday, staring at 7.00pm. Visitors are welcome.
Sunday’s club run saw Steve Myatt, Dave Woodhouse, Phil Adams, Chris Jenkins, Paul Mynett, John Woodhouse and Tony Lodge complete a 75 miles loop from Uppermill, climbing more than 3,000 feet, while club president Christine Minto chose a flatter 65-mile loop to Retford.
