Barnsley have today completed the signing of Blackpool midfielder Brad Potts for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old, who is equally at home in a central position or on the flanks, was a key figure in the Seasiders’ SkyBet League One promotion campaign in 2016-17, and played a particularly significant role in the 2-1 play-off victory over Exeter City at Wembley, scoring one of the goals and assisting with the other.
A former Carlise United player and England Under 19 international, Potts, who stands 6ft 2ins, has made nearly 200 Football League appearances.
Reds’ head coach Paul Heckingbottom, who has been tracking the player for some time, is quoted on the Oakwell Club’s official website as saying: “Brad has shown real progression and ability throughout his career. He brings something different to our midfield, having the height, power and ability to score goals. We look forward to integrating him into the squad.”
