Barnsley have made their 13th signing of a very busy summer with the acquisition on a three-year contract of 22-years-old striker Mamadou Thiam (pictured) from French Ligue 1 side Dijon FC.
A Senegal Under 20 international, he scored two goals in his five appearances for his country.
He spent last season on loan with Ligue 2 team Clermont, for whom he played 32 times, scoring eight goals.
Head coach Paul Heckingbottom told the Oakwell Club’s official website: “Mamadou is exactly the type of striker we’ve been looking for. He’s pacey, powerful, can use both feet and play in different positions, which gives us options and much-needed versatility.”
