A successful Football Academy, established in Hemsworth, has benefited from sponsorship provided by Active Response Security, based in Barnsley.
Costa Unida UK offers elite coaching to youngsters between the ages of six and ten at a top of the range facility.
Costa Unida has over ten years experience of delivering quality football packages in Marbella, Spain, under the direction of Jamie Fullarton, a former Premier League footballer, qualified UEFA pro licence coach and previously first team manager at Notts Coounty FC.
The stated aim is “empowering players to be the best they can be in everything they do in a safe learning environment.”
A number of eight to ten year olds from Barnsley are already involved in the UK Academy.
Players will receive a full kit bearing the Active Response logo.
Michelle Bailey, of Active Response, explained the reasoning behind the sponsorship.
“Jamie put a persuasive case about developing the skills of young people in a safe environment. We have a primary interest in the well-being of young people, which is reflected through our 3D character BuzzBee, who is used as a teaching tool in schools.
“There is a great synergy in our aims and we will take a highly supportive approach in enabling Jamie and his team to enable players to work hard in pursuit of their dreams.
“I would encourage other business owners to look at ways they might give their support too.”
