Taylor injury mars another bonus point win for Barnsley Ladies

Barnsley Ladies 32, Sefton 0

Barnsley Ladies picked up another bonus point win to keep their position at the top of the league but were made to work hard for the win.

They suffered at setback in the first 10 minutes when Captain Alix Taylor picked up a shoulder injury and they could manage only one first-half try by Jess Roberts.

The second half saw Barnsley step up the pace with Rosie Whittaker, making her first appearance of the season after recovering from a hip operation, picking up a couple of tries. There were tries, too, for Sarah Palmer, Sally Wenham and Katie England and a conversion from Backy Patrick, making the final score 32-0.

Barnsley now have a week off before facing second placed Birkenhead at Shaw Lane on 18 February in a match that could possibly seal the league for the Shaw Laners if they can manage another victory.

The match kicks off at 2.00pm and is the Ladies Charity Day. This season it is a fund-raiser for Bluebell Wood.
