A poor weather forecast last Thursday saw just two riders ride in the first of Birdwell Wheelers’ three 15 mile time trials at Thurnscoe. Trevor Mayne was fastest in 41m 22s while Paul Heggie finished in 49m 12s. However, Heggie was 10 seconds ahead on handicap.

All finished well inside the time limit of 7h 15m.
The previous day Tina Oakes completed the 167km Mallorca sportive which had a gruelling 2475 metres of climbing, including Puig Major, the highest peak on the island of Majorca.
