Donations reach £2,000

Relatives of Private Matthew Thornton, the Barnsley soldier killed in Afghanistan in November, have raised almost £2,000 for forces charity Help for Heroes. Thornton, a Territorial Army soldier of the 4th Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment, died in a roadside explosion just six days after his 28th birthday.
